Jennifer Hargreaves named President of the Delaware Organization of Nurse Leaders
Jennifer L. Hargreaves BA, RN, Educational Institute (BHEI) Manager at Beebe Healthcare, has been named president of the Delaware Organization of Nurse Leaders (DONL). She has been an active member of the organization since 2011.
In her new statewide role, Ms. Hargreaves is focused on developing collaborative leadership programs and educational offerings for Delaware nurse leaders together with members of the American Organization of Nurse Executives (AONE).
“We believe that it is important that nurses are empowered so that they have a stronger voice in patient care and can make decisions necessary to constantly improve patient safety,” she says, adding, “I definitely would like to see more statewide nurse participation in this organization.”
DONL provides nurses with a forum for exchanging ideas and sharing information

With a Bachelor of Art Degree in psychology from Catawba College, North Carolina, Ms. Hargreaves joined Beebe in 1996 as a GI Tech. She soon decided to become a nurse and enrolled in what is today the Margaret H. Rollins School of Nursing and earned her nursing degree in 2001. She provided patient care in both the Intensive Care Unit and in Same Day Surgery until 2006 where she moved into an educational role. She has served on several nursing leadership and patient care improvement councils, including the Nursing Review Board, Professional Education and Development Council, the Clinical Practice Council and the Global Council. In 2014, Ms. Hargreaves led the restructuring of clinical education at Beebe Healthcare and was named manager of the new Beebe Healthcare Educational Institute. She also is the co-editor of The Reporter, the quarterly publication for the Delaware Nurses Association. Ms. Hargreaves has been recognized for her work through several nursing awards including the 2014 Delaware Excellence in Nursing Practice Award for Nurse Leader/Manager.
