Beebe Integrative Health to Host Opioid Awareness Conference in Lewes

Beebe Integrative Health will host a conference, entitled “Addressing the Opioid Epidemic: The Role of Integrative Health in the Management of Chronic Pain,” on Saturday, March 4, at Irish Eyes in Lewes.

The conference, in partnership with the Medical Society of Delaware, will bring together integrative health professionals, state health officials, prescribers of pain medications and more health professionals to discuss this urgent issue affecting society and healthcare today.

Karyl Rattay, MD, Director of the Delaware Division of Public Health and Uday Jani, MD, an internist specializing in Functional and Integrative Medicine, will be the keynote speakers. Panels of experienced practitioners will speak on various topics, including massage and body work, chiropractic care, acupuncture, medical marijuana, and strategies to help bridge the gap in patient care.

Be part of the dialogue creating a productive environment for collaboration and networking of community resources regarding effective approaches to help decrease pain and use of prescription pain medicines and, overall, improve quality of life for people living with chronic pain. After participation in this educational activity, learners will be able to:

  • Effectively utilize evidence-based integrative modalities as part of the plan of care to help decrease the use of prescription pain medicines
  • Collaborate and network among community resources regarding integrative approaches to help people manage chronic pain and improve quality of life.

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint providership of the Medical Society of Delaware and Beebe Healthcare. The Medical Society of Delaware is accredited by the ACCME to provide CME activities for physicians. The Medical Society of Delaware designates this live continuing medical education activity for a maximum of 6.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. This activity has been approved for AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™.

Registration is $75 per person, includes lunch and continuing medical education credits. On the day of the conference, registration begins at 7:45 a.m. The conference will last from 8 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.
