Beebe Healthcare Environmental Services team member Estefania Proano was one of 10 healthcare workers across the U.S. and Canada to be presented the C.A.P.E. Award by the Cintas Corporation. These awards were established to recognize professionals “Cleaning to Advance the Patient Experience.”

Cintas recently presented Proano and Beebe Medical Foundation with checks for $2,500 to go along with plaques commemorating the award. Beebe and Proano will be featured on a congratulatory advertisement in Times Square in the coming weeks. More than 700 nominees were considered.

Proano received multiple testimonials as part of the nomination process. She was one of the first Beebe team members to clean a COVID-19 positive room.

“Estefania and I were the first to clean a COVID positive room and I remember her being fearless and persevering to ensure we were safe, and of course effective in our cleaning process,” her colleague wrote.

Iris Verdi, Director of Environmental Services for Beebe Healthcare, shared the heartfelt nominations with Proano during the presentation.

“I’m so proud of Stef for receiving this honor,” Verdi said. “She is truly deserving and exemplifies all of Beebe’s values and is a leader in this department of unsung heroes. This award gives us a chance to say thank you to all Environmental Service healthcare workers as a vital part of the team and patient experience.”
