Margaret H. Rollins School of Nursing at Beebe Healthcare Named Best in Delaware for 4th Consecutive Year

For the fourth consecutive year, RegisteredNursing.org has designated the Margaret H. Rollins School of Nursing at Beebe Healthcare as the best nursing school in the state of Delaware.

It is the only hospital-based nursing program in the state, and offers one of the country’s leading accredited RN Diploma programs with focus on foundational nursing excellence, experiential learning, and ongoing guidance for students as they prepare to take the National Council of State Boards of Nursing NCLEX-RN examination, upon graduation.

RegisteredNursing.org evaluates and ranks nursing schools in accordance with NCLEX-RN pass rates – the exam nursing graduates must pass to become licensed and qualified for transition to the role of bedside nurse in clinical care environments. This year, 96.6 percent of graduates out of Beebe’s School of Nursing passed the exam on first attempt.

“We have earned a reputation as one of the premier places in the Delmarva region for nurses to learn, train, and gain valuable clinical experience in preparation for their careers. Our repeated recognition by RegisteredNursing.org validates that reputation even further,” said Karen Pickard, DNP, MSN, RN, CNE, Director of the Margaret H. Rollins School of Nursing. “We are committed to delivering a comprehensive and enhanced educational experience for our students – one that allows each to build crucial clinical skills as well as confidence as they train to eventually work in acute care, long-term, and community-based healthcare settings.”

Founded in 1921, the original Beebe School of Nursing was officially renamed in 2011 upon receipt of a generous donation from the Ma-Ran Foundation by Randall and Margaret H. Rollins. Today, students have a unique opportunity to earn a Diploma in professional nursing, and upon graduation, are positioned to make a seamless transition to a four-year college or university in pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in nursing. Here, a lifelong commitment to learning is embedded into the culture of the organization.

“Our research shows that 85 to 100 percent of our graduates intend to pursue higher education, as a means of continuously advancing their skills and positioning themselves well for career advancement,” said Pickard. “We support these pathways through partnerships with well-respected colleges in the state of Delaware, including long-standing agreements with the University of Delaware and Wilmington University.”

The Margaret H. Rollins School of Nursing is proud to be designated as a Center of Excellence in Nursing Education by the National League for Nursing (NLN) and is accredited by both the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) and the Society of Simulation in Healthcare (SSH).
