Robotically Assisted General Surgery

General surgeons Michael Sofronski, MD, and Ramakrishna Tatineni, MD, are also training to be able to offer robotically assisted hernia repair, gallbladder surgeries, and more for general surgery patients. They will be training and starting procedures at Beebe in late 2018. Robotically assisted general surgery surgeries to be offered include:

  • Cholecystectomy
  • Inguinal Hernia Repair
  • Umbilical hernia repair
  • Sleeve Gastrectomy (bariatric)
  • Colectomy

“The program will continue to expand as we train surgeons, surgical teams, and recruit new surgeons to bring a wide variety of robotically assisted surgical procedures here for our community,” said Dr. Wehberg. “Our plan is to train the next generation of surgical teams so we can provide the best care for the next generation of our patients.”
