Beebe Healthcare Recognized by Healthgrades
Beebe Healthcare has been named as one of America’s 100 Best Hospitals for Pulmonary Care according to new research released by Healthgrades, the leading resource that connects consumers, physicians, and health systems.
Every year, Healthgrades evaluates hospital performance at nearly 4,500 hospitals nationwide for 32 of the most common inpatient procedures and conditions using Medicare data, and outcomes in appendectomy and bariatric surgery using all-payer data provided by 16 states.
The hospitals that have achieved the Healthgrades America’s 100 Best Hospitals for Pulmonary Care have demonstrated exceptional quality of care. From 2017-2019, patients treated at hospitals receiving the America's 100 Best Hospitals for Pulmonary Care Award have, on average a 52.4% lower risk of dying than if they were treated in hospitals that did not receive the award.* Learn more.

Beebe Earns Spring 2020 Safety Award
Beebe Healthcare was awarded an ‘A’ in the spring 2020 Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade, a national distinction recognizing Beebe’s achievements providing safer healthcare. The Leapfrog Group is an independent national watchdog organization committed to healthcare quality and safety. The Safety Grade is a letter grade assigned to all general hospitals across the country and updated every six months, assessing how well the hospital prevents medical errors and other harms to patients.

Beebe Healthcare is proud to announce that Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield Delaware has recognized the not-for-profit healthcare system with a Blue Distinction Center for Cardiac Care designation. Blue Distinction Centers are nationally designated providers that show expertise in delivering improved patient safety and better health outcomes, based on objective measures that were developed with input from the medical community and leading accreditation and quality organizations.

Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield Delaware has recognized Beebe Healthcare with a Blue Distinction Center for Maternity Care designation as part of the Blue Distinction Specialty Care program. Blue Distinction Centers are nationally designated hospitals that show expertise in delivering improved patient safety and better health outcomes, based on objective measures that were developed with input from the medical community.

Beebe Healthcare has received three American Heart Association awards that recognize the healthcare system’s consistent commitment and success in providing a higher standard of care.

Beebe Healthcare's Tunnell Cancer Center Receives Reaccreditation
Beebe Healthcare’s Tunnell Cancer Center has received reaccreditation by the Quality Oncology Practice Initiative (QOPI®) Certification Program, an affiliate of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO). The QOPI® Certification Program (QCP™) provides a three-year certification for outpatient hematology-oncology practices that meet nationally recognized standards for quality cancer care. This reaccreditation is an example of Beebe's dedication to quality care and the support of the Tunnell Cancer Center team.
Tunnell Cancer Center Earns National Recognition for Quality
The Commission on Cancer (CoC) of the American College of Surgeons has granted a Three-Year Accreditation with Commendation to the Tunnell Cancer Center at Beebe. This is the fourth time that Tunnell Cancer Center has gained the coveted Commendation designation as part of the Certificate of Accreditation.
Breast Health Program Granted Accreditation
Beebe Healthcare has again been granted a three-year/Full accreditation designation by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC), a program administered by the American College of Surgeons. The designation represents a 2021 renewal for Beebe Healthcare, which earned the accreditation first in 2013 and was the first organization in Delaware to do so.
Beebe is Baby Friendly
Beebe was granted re-certification as a Baby-Friendly Hospital in 2019. Beebe was first designated as a Baby-Friendly™ Hospital in 2013, reflecting its commitment to the optimal level of care for infant feeding and mother-and-infant bonding. Beebe Healthcare is the first organization in Delaware to earn this international designation, launched as part of the Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative (BFHI) in 1991 by the World Health Organization and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).
Safe Sleep Certification
Beebe Healthcare has been recognized by the National Safe Sleep Hospital Certification Program as a “Gold Safe Sleep Champion,” the highest designation, for its commitment to best practices and education on infant safe sleep. The National Safe Sleep Hospital Certification Program was created by Cribs for Kids®, a Pittsburgh-based organization dedicated to preventing infant, sleep-related deaths due to accidental suffocation. Beebe Healthcare, a Cribs for Kids® partner, also has been recognized for following the safe sleep guidelines recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), and for providing training programs for parents, staff and the community.

Beebe Healthcare announced that it has been named a Top Agency of the 2019 HomeCare Elite®, a recognition of the top-performing home health agencies in the United States. For 14 years, HomeCare Elite has annually identified the top 25 percent of Medicare-certified agencies and highlighted the top 100 and top 500 agencies overall.

NICHE Designated Site Since 2011
Since 2011, Beebe has been designated as a NICHE (Nurses Improving Care for Healthsystem Elders) location. The vision of NICHE is for all patients 65 and over to be given sensitive and exemplary care.
Beebe Laboratory Services Accreditations
Beebe Healthcare laboratory is staffed by 75 team members working in roles that include, but are not limited to: phlebotomist, laboratory assistant, medical technologist, specimen processor, client services representative, transcriptionist and courier. Beebe also has three pathologists on staff.
The laboratory has received accreditation from the College of American Pathologists and our Blood Bank holds aabb accreditation. Beebe’s lab is also Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) certified for Point of Care testing, Microbiology, Serology, Immunology, Chemistry, Urinalysis, Endocrinology, Toxicology, Hematology, Transfusion Medicine, Histopathology, Cytology, as well as several other subspecialties.
All Beebe Medical Group Primary Care Practices Earn National Recognition for Patient-Centered Care
Beebe Medical Group Primary Care Practices have been recognized for sustaining National Committee on Quality Assurance (NCQA) Patient-Centered Medical Home Recognition.
This model of care puts patient needs first and requires a team-based approach to achieve optimal health outcomes. The NCQA Patient-Centered Medical Home is a model of primary care that combines teamwork and information technology to improve care, improve patients’ experience of care and reduce costs.
