FAMILY MEDICINE RESIDENCY

CONTINUITY

Continuity in care is important to all patients. Our Continuity Clinic, located at Beebe Family Practice – Long Neck, is the “hub” for the Family Medicine Residency. In this clinic, under the supervision of our faculty physicians, resident physicians will develop an ambulatory patient panel of their own. These patients will view the resident physician as their primary care provider, and the resident physician will direct and manage their care for the duration of the program. These longitudinal relationships with patients are the most rewarding aspect of Family Medicine training.

We highly value the Continuity Clinic experience for resident physicians and their patients. It both challenges and rewards each resident physician through a complex array of medical issues while serving a culturally diverse population. With access to a superb group of subspecialties who provide consultation, as well as resident physician teaching, we are providing high-quality, evidenced-based care that is patient centric.

Once fully staffed, Beebe’s Family Medicine Residency Continuity Clinic will facilitate a minimum of 7,000 additional primary care appointments each year. This translates to increased access to timely care for patients with a wide range of medical issues and needs. This means Beebe’s Family Medicine Residency has the potential to create a powerful system of continuity in care for those we serve, and who depend on primary care providers over the course of their lifetimes.
